Prolific French filmmaker Agnès Varda, the only female director associated with the influential French New Wave movement during the 1950s and 60s. Her career has spanned six decades, and at the age of 89 she became the oldest Academy Award nominee for her documentary Faces, Places (2017).
Agnès Marin was a 13-year-old girl who was murdered on November 11, 2011 in Chambon-sur-Lignon, France. The murder was committed by 17 year-old Mathieu Moulinas, who at the time was on parole while awaiting trial for rape of another girl.
Agnès Oblige (French, or at least French-ish, pronunciation for both), one of the main protagonists of the video game Bravely Default.
Agnes is the original given name of the gypsy girl Esmeralda in Victor Hugo's "Hunchback of Notre Dame" (aka "Notre Dame de Paris").
