I really don't think this is derived from Anahita. Who came up with this? It seems wrong. It's an old French name.

Anaïs is also a French Provençal and Catalan form of Anna meaning grace. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ana%C3%AFs_(given_name)

Previously this name used to be listed (if not here then elsewhwere) as a Mediaeval Occitan/Provençal variation of Anne, and I would have hazarded, conflated with Agnes as happens with these two names in other languages in the Mediaeval period (as Margaret/Magdalen, Margaret/Mary also become conflated). The evidence of this name existing in Late Mediaeval French records is at odds with the connection with the Goddess Anahita. Strange.

Anais is also Hebrew for "graceful", Latin for "God's grace", French for Anna, meaning "favor" or "grace".
