Anneke

I have a friend with the name Anneke and she has it pronounced an-EH-KA, as in Anika. She's from South Africa, and for her family the name is Afrikaans.
SO MANY TIMES has her name been mispronounced. An-EE-KEE, An-EEK-A, any more you can think of that's not An-EH-KA, it's been said to her. Another one: An-eh-KEE.

The little girl I know called Anneke pronounces her name Ah-neek.

Pronounced AH-neh-keh, this is a lovely Dutch name.
