My favorite spelling of the name, mainly because I usually prefer traditional spellings to some modern kree8tyv spelling.
It's a pretty name. And no, this is not a tacky spelling, it is the original German spelling.
It's not a combination of Anna and Liese, it's a combination of Anne and Liese.
My daughter (born 4-29-20) is named Anneliese Claire. I absolutely love her name, the elegance, the meaning...everything. She’s a year old, and let me tell you she’s headstrong, independent, stubborn, but absolutely loving.
Tacky spelling.
To me this is the most sophisticated of the Ann- names. Very elegant and graceful and would be a stand out among the popular names of today. I imagine an Anneliese being very confident and successful and filled with possibilities. This is an excellent name in my humble opinion and would be a great choice for anyone that is considering it for a child or character.
Such a refined, gracious, name for a baby girl!
I love the name Anneliese. Honestly, it is one of my favorite names, along with Ada, Clara, Anastasia, and Odette. It is such a lovely name, so feminine, so elegant, so classic... it has it all. I am surprised that it is such a rarely used name, I mean, it seems that it is a name that parents seem to not take into account many times when naming their daughters. It is a shame, although on the other hand I prefer that it does not become super used because it loses part of its charm, as has happened with names such as Chloe, Amelia or Olivia. But seriously, I'd like to hear it a little bit more, just a little bit. I really am hopelessly in love with this name.
Elegant!
Very overwrought. Maybe best used on some historical character.
I named my daughter Analise (pronounced Ana - Lise) Francesca. Loved the name the minute I saw it and her middle name is her grandmother’s. I think it’s beautiful and unique. It’s a variation on the German names Ana and Elise and in Hebrew it means Grace or devoted to God. As others have mentioned it’s also tied to Anne Frank. I’ve yet to meet more than 2 people who have the same name. And that was my goal when I named her.
This name is horrible.
This name is so pretty I think this name is the best name there ever was. It's lovely to name your kids this.
:)
This is my name! I can now sort of see why this name isn't that popular with all the misspellings and the mispronouncing and to be Honest I HATED my name when I was a child. My name was spelled Anneliese and I didn't like it because (me being a child) I thought it made me sound older than I was. When I started 7th grade I began to grow attached to that name because it's 'Odd' (I say that as a good thing) and it makes you stand out from other kids. Now I'm in high school and I still like my name. So if you have a name like Anneliese or Analise or however your parents chose to spell it, you might not like it but you'll grow used to it over time.
I totally ADORE this name! I wanted to name my daughter this but my husband hates it :( I have no idea how! It's elegant and unique. Plus the nickname Annie is so cute! If I could I would name a daughter this!
I love this name, and when I say I love it, I mean I LOVE IT. I think Elise would be a cool nickname for Anneliese instead of Elizabeth. ;3.
Very elegant and classic. If I have a daughter I'd name her Anneliese, it ages well and has no harsh sound to it.
So beautiful, elegant and gorgeous.
I once dreamt that I had twins named Etienne and Anneliese, and now those are the names I would use in the (very small) likelihood that I'd have boy-girl twins! There are alternate spellings like Annalise, Annaliese etc., but my favorite is definitely this original variant, although it may not be the intuitive spelling for most people. This name brings to mind a girl who can do it all, who's smart and accomplished, and also feminine, charismatic and sophisticated.
Love this name. Don't do Annalise or Annalyce or AnnAliese, they are horrible.
My favorite name that includes Ann/Anna.
I love the way Anneliese sounds, and considered it for my daughter; however, I can't get past the way it's spelled. To me, it looks like there's an extra letter that doesn't need to be there.
I am actually decently fond of it, surprisingly enough. It seems very mature and incredibly acceptable in the business world, yet it never forsakes it's entirely evident childish nature. Very darling, very adult. The opinion stated above is only valid to the name when it is spelled "Anneliese"-- any other way and it begins looking like some pretentious, infantile, kre8tiv, pompous "Shayanna," "Annakate," or whatever else your mind can formulate. As an ending note: pronunciation is best left the German route.
I prefer Annaliese. It sounds prettier and looks better.
One of the best names ever. No kidding. Moms if you are considering this, use it.
I prefer Annaliese. The 'e' in the middle of the name makes it look angry for some reason.
This is such a beautiful name! I'm only 13, but when I get married & have kids I think this would be a great name for a little girl! It's really cool that is was Anne Frank's name, I would recommend this name:)
DON'T change anything about the name Annelies(e)! It's lovely on its own in this particular form; on the other hand, "Annalise" seems, in my opinion, to give the name a rather pretentious, wannabe-like hue. That's what changing one letter does to it.
This name is LOVELY!
I have a cousin named Annelise. I think Anneliese is much more unique but if you want a simpler name you can go for Annelise.
This is such a pretty name, and it is really unique too! Beautiful! Any girl would be so lucky to have this name. (:
I don't like this name because of the 'anal'.
A lovely name.
This is a gorgeous name! I'm hoping to name a future daughter Anneliese Gabrielle. The name Gabrielle would honor my older sister.
This is my name although I spell it Analyce. I love it however it's spelled though I think the sound of it is so classy and beautiful. When I have a little girl I'll use it as her middle name!
LOVE this name. Anneliese Katherine is a combination I like. Very pretty name. I think it has a lot of great qualities about it.
My sister named her daughter Anneliese but they call her Anna - I love the name.
This is a very pretty name. Easy to grow up with too. I would use the spelling Annalise for ease of pronunciation and spelling.
I like it spelled Annalise and it is the most beautiful name for a little girl. It is also a nice spin on paying respect to elders named Ann or Anna. It also goes great as a twin name or siblings named Reece (my son's name).
I personally used to dislike this name as none of my friends could spell it right. But as I've gotten older my name has grown on me. From what I've read from other comments I've noticed I might be the only one who spells it like this - Annelliese, pronounced as ANNA-LEESE. Now I am proud to have this name as it is unique and mine.
This is actually my name although I spell it ANNELESE, and I seem to be the only one. It is pronounced ANN-E-LESE. I have never really liked it but have come to appreciate its uniqueness.
My name is Annalise. My father wanted to spell my name, Anneliese, but my mother wouldn't let him. So my father "Americanized" it for her. That seemed to make her happy.
Pretty name, but I like Annalise better.
Annaliese is my first name, spelt this way. I like it because it is unusual and I have never had any problems with my name and get lots of compliments. I think people should consider using this name.
In my opinion, Anneliese is one of the most beautiful names for a girl ever.
We chose to do this name, but with a second "a" instead of the first "e"....Annaliese. Obviously, we loved this name, as it is the name of our daughter. Much to our 6 year old's pleasure, the newest Barbie movie, "The Princess and the Pauper" stars a Princess Anneliese.
