In Scandinavia it is pronounced ah-TEH-neh.
The French pronunciation is actually more like "Atune" (A as in "at" and "tune") I'm not sure how to explain it but somewhat like the name Adam but with a T sound instead of the D. The "e" at the end is NOT stressed as "ee" or really even pronounced.Forvo.com has a German pronunciation that sounds more like the pronunciations people are suggesting.
I've heard this name pronounced "ah-THEEN" and "ah-THEE-nah" (like Athena.) Can someone tell me which is correct?
According to dictionary.com, A·the·ne (/əˈθini/) should be pronounced: [uh-thee-nee] or [ə-THEE-nee], with stress on the second syllable.
