User comments for Audie (Meaning / History Only)

My name is Audie. My Grandfather was Audie and my uncle, his son, is Audie. To be correct, Audie is an old IRISH nickname for Edward which was spelled "Ardward". My grandfater's parents were from Ireland.

This is also an old French name. Pronounced oh-dee. Like the Garfield character "Odie". It also has NO relation to the English diminutive of Audrey. A lot of Cajuns, and Canadian French people adopted this name. It is more common amongst Cajuns and Canadian French people, than modern France now.
