Can't help but feel as though it sounds rather childish.
I love the name Benito and Benedikt more than Benedict.
I like it! Sounds more pleasant than Benedict.
Does remind me now of the word pinto.
LOVE the meaning.
Benito means blessed! I believe my child is blessed and he has blessed me with his precious spirit. Therefore I gave him the name Benito. It fits him perfectly. He is the happiest child I know. Full of joy and extraordinarily charismatic.
Even though I'm part Italian, I don't find this name offensive or anywhere near as bad as Adolf. I associate it more with Benito Juarez than Benito Mussolini. I still wouldn't use it on a non-Spanish child, though.
Benito sounds like a gay Italian Frenchman in very tight tights.
I don't live in Mexico, but my parents' descent from there and Benito Juarez has always been spoken of in a very honorable way.
