Berit

I named my daughter, Beritt in 2003, and she has always loved her name. We are of Scandinavian and Celtic heritage and along with her middle name Kae (fourth generation with the same middle name) it is a wonderfully unique with a nod to our cultural past. Have many Berit's in our family lineage from Norway. I added the extra "t" to even it out, visually. People want to pronounce it Brett, until they hear that it has two syllables. We call her "B", or Berry. Again, she has always loved her name, and its individuality.

The Swedish pronunciation makes it a lovely, cultural, unusual name. Unfortunately most English-speakers would pronounce it as "buried".
