Why are all the Bobbies here talking about a "tooth-gap?" Is that a stereotype? I have a tooth gap and my name is ANIYA, not Bobbi!
I think the spelling, especially the -i at the end, makes it look feminine (although it is pronounced the same as its masculine counterpart, Bobby). I love to combine it with Jo, making it as Bobbi Jo. It looks more complete to me, and it also sounds mature. (All the stereotypes aside)
Hi! I'm another Bobbi!I don't fit that stereotype at all. I have red curly hair and green eyes. I don't have blonde in my hair, or a gap in my teeth. Also, I wasn't the Cheerleader, but The Nerd/Geek! My husband loves my name, and so does everyone I meet. I don't care what anyone thinks, I love my name and I hope you do too. Also, I'm Bobbi Renee, not Bobbi Jo. Many of the Bobbi's and Bobbie's I've met are awesome people.
My name's Bobbi and I got my name from my grandfather whose nickname was Bobby. I’m definitely an artistic and free soul and am always complimented on my enthusiasm and kind nature. I would say I’m an ambivert, really depends on who I’m with and when it comes to girly girl or tomboy I’m leaning in the middle a bit heheh. Growing up I was a precious princess, but now I’m a normal, sporty, one of those “let’s go play basketball” girls ahah! I never was fond of my name until a year ago when I realised the meaning and where I got it from and it was heart warming for I never met my grandfather. I feel most of the Bobbi’s I’ve met have a bit of a Gemini personality. They tend to be really nice, but secretly building up with emotions.
My name is Bobbi-Jo and my middle name is Ann. I go by Bobbi and whenever anyone finds out about the "Jo" part, the first question is always "where are you from?" Seattle is the answer and it's always followed by a look of confusion. Lol. Anyway, I hate my name, but everyone else seems to like it. I'm a somewhat successful professional with a college degree and have never been a tomboy or a hillbilly. Though I did live in a trailer for a couple years as a child.
Bobbi is cute, but it only works as a nickname. As a legal name, it is rather unprofessional and will sound childish on an adult.
My name is Bobbi Jean, not short for Barbara or Roberta. My middle name is for my mother, who is a Jean. No gap in my teeth, no southern cheerleader, and actually born and raised in NY. A little bit tomboyish, but also very much girly-girl growing up. Long brown hair and brown eyes. I actually like my name, and although I have met a handful of other Bobbi’s, I like having an uncommon name. I’m well educated in a respected career, down to earth, sarcastic sense of humor, and I get along with pretty much everyone.
I dislike this name. It doesn't sound very feminine to me.
I think Bobbi can make a really cute legal first name on its own as a girl’s name. I don’t like it for a boy though, I prefer the spelling Bobby, but I like all spellings for a girl, especially Bobbi! Bobbi can suit a tomboy or a girly girl, either way, I would give Bobbi a traditional feminine middle name because anything could happen, she’s still female.
My name is Bobbi Diana. I think it's super cute for a girl. I was named after my Grandpa Robert. I have light brown hair and green eyes and I was always a tomboy growing up.
My name is Bobbi. There is no middle name to go with it, it's just Bobbi. I WAS NEVER a cheerleader. I love my first name. It is unique and yes, maybe tomboyish, but that describes me perfectly. Love it.
Everyone thinks my middle name is Jo and that I spell my first name Bobbie, I just go along with it. I am blond and blue-gray eyed but do not have a gap in my front teeth, but if I did that would be okay. I was not a cheerleader but a good friend of mine was the captain of the cheerleaders. I got along with everyone in school and still have a very diverse group of friends. Definitely a tom boy- I can change the oil in my car, build things, drive anything you hand me the keys to, but I can dress/act like a lady. I have met lots of other Bobbis and Bobbies, they have all been pretty awesome.
My beautiful daughter is called Bobbi-Anne. Named after my late dad Robert (Bob). I would never have used the name if I'd had a boy as my dad hated it for a boy. He always said it's a soft lads name. In the United Kingdom Bobbi is unusual for a girl and I wanted unusual. It's better than the stupid names the celebs name their kids.
My name is Bobbi too... Not tomboyish at all! Didn't like it as a child, but now that I am an adult I love it! It turns heads!
My name is Bobbi, I am a blue eyed blonde and I was a cheerleader in high school. No gap teeth! I have a fun sense of humor and make people laugh all the time. My dad's name was Bobby, not Robert. My middle name is Sue and I feel like I am probably the stereotypical southern girl. Very girly and not a tomboy at all! I never hardly meet any other Bobbi's and feel like my name is not popular or elegant, very country sounding. But that's what the parents gave me so I have to like it.
I am named Bobbi, I actually do have a gap in my teeth and have been teased. People automatically think male if they've never met me but I'm original, only came across one other. Meaning is bright and famous.
My name is Bobbi and it is short for Barbra which was my grandmothers' name who passed away right before I was born. My dad's name is Robert so that's where the nickname Bobbi came from! I got picked on a lot as a child but wouldn't change my name for anything because of the meanings behind it! I am a tomboy, actually a lesbian tomboy, with absolutely perfect teeth thank you, and I am very proud of it and in no way is it because of the fact Bobbi is my name! So here's to all the girl Bobbi's out there and a big F-U to all the jerks who stereotype it in a negative way!
I was named Bobbi after my father Robert. I am quite tomboyish and NO I do not have a gap in my teeth! I have never been teased about my name... just for some odd reason people don't know how to spell it. I have never received any attention for my name until I married my husband, Bobby.
My name is Bobbi Joanne (As in Jo-Anne) I am very pleased to say that I am named after my father Bobby. I was born in 1965 in a mid-eastern town in the USA. I am a dark blond with beautiful blue eyes and NO GAP in my teeth. I am very outgoing, a social butterfly, and have a bubbly personality. I am on the short side of the height stick, 5'3", and I am ok with that. I love to get my hands and feet dirty. I'm very much a tom boy BUT when I dress up I am a LADY from head to toe and I act like one too. I am smart and intelligent. I hope this helps those who are making a decision to name their daughter Bobbi. I would rather have this name than Roberta.
My name is Bobbi. My parents kept having girls so I was named after my dad when they gave up after 5 kids! I am quite tomboy-ish and I actually do have a teeth gap. I think it is quite a good name and unusual.
Bobbi is such a super-sugarlicious name! I feel like you should have to buy it from a candy store!
When I think of the name Bobbi I think of a cute, cheery girl with blond hair and a very pretty smile.
Gosh I'm sorry to say but man, this has got to be the most unattractive name for a girl! I hear this name as a guy's name, and not to mention when girls are named this it's usually paired with 'Jo'. It sounds like a hick-ish girl with a gap in her teeth! UGH!But on the plus side it does have an "I'm not so girly" attitude about it.
I love this name for a girl, just because it's different. I agree with the first comment, it's adorably tomboyish. I think I'll hang on to it for a fictional character or something.
I don't think this should be a name. For guys it's Bobby. If I picture a girl named Bobbi I get this picture of a upper-class southern girl cheerleader. I know it doesn't make any sense, but it's painful, even though I once met a girl named Bobbi who was really cool.
Bobbi for a girl is pretty cute, but not for a boy at all! Bobby is the boy way to spell it!
I LOVE the name Bobbi for a girl! It's just so cute and tomboyish sounding. I know a Bobbi and she's so nice. PEOPLE, NAME YOUR GIRLS BOBBI!
No, not for a girl, Bobbi is a guy's name, and besides, it's Bobby and it's short for Robert.
