Sounds really cute with Lynn or Jean at the end.

I wouldn't want to have this name. It sounds masculine and people have a habit of misspelling it as Boobie.

Often gets lumped in with my name, Robbie. Lots of people call me Bobbie as a joke. It's really not a bad name.

Great as a nickname.

I love the name Bobbie as a nickname for Roberta. It seems so bouncy and sparky and fun and bright (and somehow implies red hair, or maybe that's just my personal associations). A girl called Bobbie could use this name, or if she really didn't like it or was super girly or something she could use Roberta. There are also other nicknames such as Bertha, Bertie, Bert, Robbie, Robert... but Bobbie is DEFINITELY my favourite (with Bert as runner-up). :)

I've known two girls called Bobbie, both short for Roberta but I love the name Bobbie as it is.

I like this name for either gender, though I prefer the spelling "Bobby".
