It's my middle name :) Georgiana is my first name, I got Brenda from my great aunt, who I was named after. So many people ask me why the user name for my social media account is "georgiebrsangster" NO I AM NOT CATFISHING AS THOMAS BRODIE-SANGSTERS WIFE! MY name is (FIRST NAME) GEORGIANA (MIDDLE NAME) BRENDA (LAST NAME) SANGSTER. My father is from the same town in Scotland as Thomas is! The name is pretty popular there!
Reminds me of Brenda from The Mazerunner. She was gorgeous and a very likeable character in my eyes.
I personally don't understand how this name sounds 'masculine' to everybody else, personally it reminds me of a beautiful older-fashioned young woman. I think the reason everyone associates it with older women is because the name is outdated, but for that reason of its unpopularity nowadays I like it even more. If I have a daughter I will definitely consider this name.
It makes me think of an old heavyset grumpy woman.
Why do some people hate this name it's literally not that bad. Sure it's considered dated nowadays but there's nothing wrong with that plus the name Brenda has some really cool meanings.
I can associate it with Brenda from Teamo Supremo aka Rope Girl.
This is probably my favorite name for a girl beginning with the letter B! Brenda’s meaning is also to die for; such a powerful, strong meaning. I don’t care that it sounds “outdated”.
A pretty name but terribly dated. I do love the character, Brenda Lee Johnson, from the TV show The Closer.
Well, Brenda is a strong name for a strong woman! Good name! Yes, it feels little bit too harsh, but why not, it looks strong, so some harsh sound is good for it. Fits for different age woman. I like it!
I like Brenda. Brenda is one of those names that are not Italian but that fit our style. We use the masculine form of it (Brando) but not Branda as 'branda' means "cot".Despite this association I link Brenda with 'brandy'. It gives me a solid, warm vibe. Something elegant and chic.Brenda means "sword", a neat simple meaning. Brenda is short, it doesn't need any nickname and it's simple to write and pronounce.
Also, I don't care for it.
Reminds me of bread, I don't know why.
Basic, boring, feels dated.
I don't know why but it reminds me of ice cream.-. I don't really like the name.
It gives me a negative vibe, partly because it sounds masculine and partly because of that creepy Brenda played by Shannon Dougherty in the TV show Beverly Hills 90210.
I knew a Brenda who was named after the singer Brenda Lee. It's a rare and unique enough name today and much preferred over its weak cousin Brenna. Brenda sounds strong. Nothing wrong with being strong.
I love this name, strong and masculine in a good way. Other spellings can be Brienda, Brynda, or Brende.
I like the name. Plain, straightforward, strong. FYI, not all Brendas are big, ugly, play golf, mean, or nasty. It is as strong as its meaning, sword.
I like this name. It's classic and sounds mature.
Brenda gail. Very beautiful name.
I like the Bren sound in this name, but the Beverly Hills 90210 character association ruins it for me. However, don't let that stop you from using it-that show's old enough that a little Brenda born today won't be teased by her peers for the association.
This name makes me think of a plain, big-boned, loud and rather masculine woman in her 40s who plays golf. For some reason, this is exactly what every Brenda I've ever met has been like.
I like this name - it sounds pretty and it's not too popular.
I think it's a very pretty name.
For some strange reason, this name has, for a long time, made me picture a mean high school girl from the late 80s or early 90s with long, brown hair and sort of pale skin who has an arrogant and vicious personality. The name itself isn't so bad, but I prefer Brenna.
Hmmm, just a little bit plain for me.
I like Bren. It has a nice sound.
I think this name is pretty. I like the simplicity of it. I hate frou-frou names like Gabriella and Isabella and I hate overly popular names like Ashley and Jessica. This name strikes a nice balance. If I ever have a daughter this will probably be her name.
Brenda is not one of my favorite names, it is cold and harsh sounding.
No one should be called Brenda because when the child goes to school the teacher will call out Brendan instead of Brenda.
I like this name a lot. We are trying to find a name that is not real popular, but not way out in left field either. This name is at the top of our list. My dad's name is Brandon, so that makes me like it even more.
Makes me think of a middle aged woman.
I really love this name, it is sweet, short and not too cutesy for a girl. There was an episode of the original 'CSI' that featured a little girl named Brenda, played by a very young Dakota Fanning.
