The French spelling of this name (as well as ones like Adrienne, Vivienne, etc.) makes me pronounce them the French way in my head when I see them, or at the very least the way they come out phonetically in English. (Carole would roughly rhyme with parole, not roughly rhyme with Barrel.) I personally wouldn't use these spellings if not intending to have them pronounced as written.
Nice.
One of the worst names of all time. Knew a lady with this name, arrested and sentenced for selling candy laced with methamphetamines to children.
I know adding an E at the end is the French variant of Carol (which to me, has charm despite being a little dated); but Carole reminds me too much of "parole" to ever use it.
The e at the end looks unnecessary and a bit pretentious.
Actually, it gives the name distinction and an aesthetically pleasing appearance.
I think Carole would be lovely on a little girl today. It's much prettier than Carol, though Carol is nice too.
