To me, this is just a verb conjugated to the past tense. It is very odd, and it kind of makes me cringe.

I like it, her sister could be called Melody.

Feminine? This screams masculine to me. "Chantée" is still a terrible name, but is at least offensive on one less level because it agrees with the girl's gender.
