This isn’t a name I’m too fond of, as it might carry some “dew” puns, but I wouldn’t venture as to say it’s “absolutely hideous” like one user below claims. It isn’t as common, it’s pretty dated, but it makes me think of a mature man. Overall Dewey is a 6/10.

Wow, the majority of these comments are just heartless. I think Dewey is such a sweet name! It has a modern, playful vibe. It also reminds me of morning dew, which I think is a pleasant association. Overall, I love the name Dewey.

The Huey, Louie, Dewey jokes would be endless if you named your son this today. Plus, since the pronunciation is identical to that of 'dewy', the guy might get a few jokes about dew and being dewy as well. This name has always sounded silly to me. Good thing it's dated.

I don't know why, but I just love this name! It sounds so cute and innocent. Dewey is David Arquette's character on the movie Scream.
