In the Bible, Eli's daughter-in-law names her son Ichabod as she finds out the Ark of the Covenant, the chest containing the Ten Commandments, was stolen by the Philistines right as she goes into labor. She names her son Ichabod, meaning "the glory (Ark of the Covenant) has departed".
