James and all his variations in English are not names for me.
I love this name! I will be naming my son Jameson - james for short ;)
I personally really like the name Jamison, but my mother doesn't like it at all. She asked why I would want to name someone after a type of whiskey.
I prefer Jameson, even if it reminds me of Jenna Jameson. However, this isn't such a bad name, but it sounds really surname-y because of the ending, as does the better one, Jameson. The only name ending in -son that doesn't sound excessively surname-y to me is Alison, and I guess that's because the other ones have been surnames and Alison hasn't. So, the name Jamison sounds a bit weird as a first name, but it's not as bad as Smith or Cohen, obviously.
This is a super cool name, but I like the Jameson spelling more.
This is my name and I'm a girl and I love it. I didn't always though. When I was little I got told ALL the time that it was a 'boys name'. But I'm named after my father James and I've grown to love it. I spell my name Jaimeson though and go by Jaime or JaiJai as a nickname. My full name is Jaimeson Jade.
I like this name, it seems like a more modern, trendier update of James. I don't like it on girls, though. The whole '-son' ending for females seems a bit strange to me.
I like this name a lot, it makes me think of a strong, rich, intelligent man. I have also seen it spelt Jameson. I know of one girl with this name but personally myself it is a boys name.
This is my given first name. My mother came up with because my father's name was "Jamie," hence I was "Jamie's son" or Jamison.
I used this name for my son except I spelled it Jaymison. I thought it was a different and unigue spelling. Just thought I'd share another spelling for the name.
