I love the name Janie because I had a coworker named Janie. We recently lost Janie as she passed away to be with the Lord. To me her name means strength, to count on. She suffered with stage 4 uterus cancer. We worked in an assisted living facility for many years. Janie never gave up she managed to get up every morning and be a Mom, wife, and CNA. She showed up to work every time she was scheduled and when some staff didn't, so that's why that name to me means strength and will.
This is my mother's name, but spelled Jani. She was born in 1958, and because she was one of three triplet girls, her mother wanted them to have semi-matching names with unusual spellings (her sisters are Jeani and Juli). My mom's always hated her name, and she gets called Jane all the time, or people pronounce it like Jan-ee instead of Janie because of the unusual spelling. She has met several other women with her name, all around her same age.
My mother's name is Janie Elizabeth. I've never known or heard of any other person with the name Janie. My dad used to mispronounce her name and call her Jamie and she would get so mad at him for that.
Well, my name is spelt Jaynee. Parents were so original, spelling my name how it sounds, yet people still spell it wrong. I love my name, although I don't know too many people in my country that have this name, I have only met one other person with my name. Crazy, right?
I ♡ this name! :D The double-plus-good thing about Janie is that it's uncommon. •ᴗ• I am VERY TEMPTED to name my daughter this (not as a nickname, but as an actual first name). This sounds sweeter than Jane.
( ˘ ³˘)❤ I like how Janie has a homey feel to it. I imagine an approachable, friendly person with the name Janie. Oh, and I find this spelling much more appealing than 'Janey'. Btw, Janie does NOT sound over the top cutesy unlike other names.
My name is Jane, but I go by Janie so I'm distinguished from my grandmother. I love my name, but my only issue is other people's confusion with the more popular 'Jamie.' Lots of people tell me it's a cute name, a less serious version of Jane. I think it's a good best friend name; Harriet the Spy's best friend is Janie, and Megan, on Drake & Josh, has a best friend named Janie.

LOVE JANIE!
This name is ok. I prefer Jane.
My middle name is Janie. I've found it to be not that common. I've only ever known one more Janie and her name was a nickname for her middle name Jane.
This is my cousin's actual first name. I shudder at the horrible mauling of the name Jane every time I hear it. It's so hill-billy-esque.
