Last name only. Use Jeffrey instead.
As a surname, I really like this name. As a first name, I hate it.
As someone named Jeffrey, you might as well just name your kid Jeffrey/Jeffery. It just sounds better, and more complete as a name. But despite my hatred for this name as a first name, Jefferson as a last name is pretty cool.
I really don't care about the connection to Jefferson Davis; I think this name is cool.
Um, Jefferson Davis... What a horrible namesake.
Best kept as a surname, I think.
My husband's name is Jefferson and it suits him perfectly. He is very successful and many people comment on his name and are impressed by it. I would never have liked the name had I not met him but because he is such a strong male he carries the name beautifully. I love the name.
I don't like it. Why not just Jeffery? Imagine how weird it would be on a white person, too.
I don't know why, but it seems to me like this name is lacking something--like it it is a little flat. Maybe the lack of articulated stress on a particular syllable?
I really don't like this as a first name. I'd recommend you to use it as a middle name, if at all.
