Yucky!
I love the name Keila. In fact, it is my name.
Well... it's simply my name. I love it, I love the sound, its uniqueness and the pronunciation.
But I hate the fact that I cannot get too meaningful a... meaning. I know it has Jewish origins, I know it is mentioned somewhere in the bible and I know it means citadel. But nothing referred to personality and / or character.
People call me Keilita, Kei (pronounced as the letter "K") or Keikei (KK).
On one hand, it looks a tad more like an actual name than, say, 'Caighlleah'. On the other hand, it's just another misspelled version of just another made-up name!
Tacky and child-like.
A very pretty name. A nickname for Keila could be 'Kei' pronounced as Kay but with a longer E sound. Pretty and unique.
I've heard this is a name of Hebrew origin. When I see it I picture a wise and strong princess during ancient biblical times.
