Why are people bashing this? It looks good, it sounds good, and I would name my child this! Also, it has the word lake, and I don’t know about y’all, but I like lakes.
Something about this name really turns me off.
I thought I made the name up until I saw this, not gonna lie. Personally I prefer Keisha, but other than that this isn’t even that bad...
Hey guys, stop referring to African American names as "trashy" or "ghetto." These "opinions" are just thinly veiled racism. I don't see anyone using the terms "ghetto" or "unprofessional" on names that are used predominately by white people... wonder why that is?This is a beautiful name.
To all the people using the name to bash a culture, African American names aren't "trashy". There's no such thing as an "inferior" culture.
Love names with la but not this one.
Sounds trashy to me. Keisha on its own is fine.
At one time I did not like my name (La Keesha). I asked my mom why she named me that. I think I hurt her a little because she really liked the name. I eventually started to embrace it. Life is what you make it. No one can make you feel inferior unless you allow them to. I can't allow others with or without my name to dictate who I am going to be. Classy or trashy or ghetto, we should stop judging books by their covers and learn to love one another.
I know it sounds ghetto, but I like my name. Why does everyone think it's trashy? It is just a name. My name is Lakeisha and I'm pretty successful now.
Trashy.
I don't think this name is trashy at all. When I hear it all I see is Lake and it makes me think of beautiful waterfalls.
Am I practically the only person on this site that doesn't think names like Lakeisha are trashy? This name sounds lovely to me, but maybe it's because I know someone named Lakeisha who is a nice girl.
Names with prefixes like La and Le are so weird. They sound tacky, but it always gives the impression that the parents have rather pompous and megalomaniacal expectations or ideas about their kids, especially considering that they, well, are going to have a name that leads to low expectations. It's like saying, ''she's not merely Keisha, she is LA Keisha''.
This makes me think of the Maury show episodes with the paternity test.
