This spelling looks forced and fake-French to me. It also implies a different pronunciation. I prefer Laurel as it looks more natural.

I am definitely going to use this as a fictional character one of these days.

This name is so sweet sounding, the spelling is gorgeous and the pronunciation sounds so graceful.

I like it pronounced the French way. I also love the way it is spelled.
