This name reminds me of Lis, which is Lily in French. Sweet and simple.
I thought Lys was pronounced (LIHSS) and not (LEES) which downgrades it for me. I do love its simple look and spelling. Perfect for the short and sweet name trend.
This is pretty. Even prettier is Lysbeth, as in the 19th century novel by J. Rider Haggard "Lysbeth: A Tale of the Dutch".
This is probably my favorite nickname for Elizabeth, even though most Americans would need help pronouncing and spelling it.
