Seriously, what is wrong with just Madison?
Madison is better imo.
I really love this! Probably my fave spelling, it's very sweet! Amazing! It ages well, and it sounds intelligent and hardworking.
I can't explain how much I LOVE this name! Sweet, pretty, feminine, amazing spelling, well aged, intelligent, and so much more!
My favorite spellings of Madison, Madyson, Madisyn, etc.
I love it so much! It's pretty, sweet and feminine! I do like Madison just as much as this!
This is probably my favorite name spelling of Madison. It's super unique which makes it super awesome!
Well, I have this name. It's cool and all. I feel like it could be a dude or girl name.
A very beautiful spelling of an all too popular name.
It’s either Madison or nothing at all.
Beautiful spelling of a common name. My daughter has this as her middle name!
Just why?
My daughter's name is Madisyn and we still love it and so does she! I figured since I’m the only one on here with a personal experience with the name I would go ahead and comment on it. For all the people on here who hate it because of the spelling, well I hate to break it to you but that’s not an uncommon thing to have multiple spellings of a name anymore, lol. My name is Alyssa and nobody spells my name correctly because there are dozens of ways to spell it apparently, hubby's name is Sean and he is always getting asked if it’s with an E or an H or even a W lol for every negative comment on here I’ve gotten dozens of positive feedback from people who love the spelling and who have also stated it does look more feminine, don’t know why it does, maybe it’s because you’re taking the word son out of Madison? As for it being over popular and trendy, she’s only run into three other Madison’s in her entire life and she’s 8 now. Anyways 2020 is coming up and people seem to have a lot of hate towards baby names and there are some very interesting names trending, so it sounds like some angry individuals are gonna have full time jobs writing hateful comments on baby names that don’t affect them personally in any way lol. If you are a parent to be who is interested in this name don’t let some negative comment sway your opinion. It’s a cute name and you will get lots of compliments on it, plus Madi is seriously the cutest nickname ever:) Also, my daughter is super outdoorsy, very into rock climbing and sports but also respectful and kind, so I think her name suits her perfectly because that’s how I picture a girl with this name.
The Y definitely softens the spelling and makes it look much more feminine. Language is constantly evolving and the US is definitely adopting the pattern of using the Y spellings of traditional male surnames to feminize. Many of the variant forms I have seen in past years (including this one) are fun, flirty, and refreshing.
Y does NOT make a name feminine.
Another illiterate spelling of a common name...
I think Madisyn spelled differently is unique in a way. It sounds fancy and gives this sort of royalty and beauty to the name. Madison spelled commonly sounds dull. (Anyone with their name spelled like that I'm not criticizing you!)
The common way you spell Madison does give off the royalty vibe but not much of the unique vibe, but Madison spelled differently is still a beautiful name, even the original.
I have the name Madisyn and I believe this name is beautiful. It just makes me feel different and people think my name is cute and yes, it does get a little annoying with people misspelling it, but it is a wonderful name that my parents loved.
Definitely the worst spelling of this annoying and obnoxious name. Sorry but can we please just stick with Madison? (Maybe Maddison) why does Madisyn & Madyson need to be listed as well? 2 spelling variations of this name within the charts would be far better than 4!Also, no offence to anyone who bears this name, named their child this, plan to or know someone with this name (any spelling variation) I just picture a child that is bratty and spoiled turned fake-personality adult. Also if you do go with this name and with this spelling, you will look forever illiterate and uneducated but if that doesn't bother you...
My girlfriend's name is Madisyn, I think it's very pretty. Madison is so general and boring, why not make your name interesting? Also, does anyone know the meaning of Madisyn? I looked it up but I can only find info on Madison.
Bad version of madison.
Ugly, harsh, trendy name. Now, it's illiterate too!
I really dislike all the trendy, kre8tive spellings for perfectly lovely names like Madison, Catherine, Caitilin, Jasmine, etc. I don't get why people need to misspell their children's names. It just makes it look cheap, overly trendy, and trashy.
Cute name. But I like Madison better. Seems like people would always misspell it this way.
I love this name. It's so sweet!
What is it with Americans today, thinking a 'y' in the position of the unstressed vowel turns a name feminine? One could argue, of course, that since the ''syn'' means nothing, the name doesn't have the masculine meaning 'son of', but it's still just a silly, youthful spelling of Madison. Very bland.
I actually prefer this spelling over Madison. Now NO ONE can say, "Oh, Madisyn is a boy's name."
Madisyn is a variant of Madison - a boys name. You can't change the meaning just by replacing the 'o' with an 'y'.
I totally agree. Madison seems like James Madison and yet Madisyn sounds like 'Maddie-sin" or "Maddie-sun" not 'Maddie-son". I'd pick this name over Maddison or Madison any day!
I know a family who is going to adopt a little Chinese baby girl and name her Madisyn, because where we live there is an area called Madison County, and they did not want it to be spelled like the county name. This name is unique, and I think the little girl will like it. I know I do!
