It's a nice name in my opinion, quite simple and close to the common Mari which I like a smidgen more. I can't stand the "clever" combined names though, such as Meri-Vuokko ('Sea Anemone') or Meri-Tähti ('Sea Star'), which would suit a boat better. By comparison only that is, as there's (hopefully) no need to embarrass a boat.
