Pretty! I love this name! And what makes it inspiring is there are two siblings in Belgium, one who is 21, and one is 13, and they both have progeria. Especially the older twin, Michiel made it 9 years past the life expectancy, 12 years old. Amber made it 1 year so far.

I was named Michiel after Michiel de Ruyter, a famous Dutch sailor. My friends call me "Chiel". To me, the name is fine but difficult when I visit English-speaking countries.

I like this a whole lot better than Michael :) I dunno, just sounds generally nicer.
