Pretty distinctive nickname for Margaret. I guess it must be my distant English heritage but I love it when a respectable formal name has a nickname that’s so…ugly cute, and you have to almost stop yourself from smiling…oh, Midge. :)
I like this name (pretty cute, to be honest) but for some reason, I am reminded of the word midget, and it's bugging me so much! Still like the name, though.
Personally, I LOVE this name! I know people think it sounds like an old lady or that it's weird to name a kid like a mosquito but IT SOUNDS SO CUTE!
Sounds like "smidge". I don't like it.
It’s very cute, I nicknamed my friend Midge because she was a bit smaller than others and she likes the nickname.
I don’t really care about the things such as the insect Midge.
This nickname sounds quite rude.
Not to be rude, but a Midge is a mosquito-like bug. Whenever I hear this word or name I am immediately reminded of my experience in Iceland with millions of midges stuck to my car. If it weren't for the bug association, this would be a lovely name.
I love this as a nickname, though I've only seen it as a nickname for Miriam in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. I really like it as a nickname for Imogen, though! It's a cool name.
Old lady’s name.
This is definitely a cute nickname, but not so good as an actual name.
I think Midge would also work nicely as a boy's name, not just a girl's. I like it- it sounds friendly and energetic.
Just add a "t" to it and you get "midget". Ugh.
I don't know if it's the small yet energetic sound or the appealing spelling, but there's something cute about Midge.
I can't stand this name. It sounds very stupid and unpleasant, just a tad more bearable than Mitzi, and that's not saying much.
