I looove it, but it’s probably too dated to use… right? Tell me I’m wrong please. It’s on my list regardless. It’s strong, cool, and Millie is so cute!
A young girl could definitely make it her own, and Millie is an adorable nickname.
Badass. And “Millie” is adorable as a nickname.
Old fashioned and not in a timeless way either.
Wasn't a fan at first but now I love this name! It fits my soon to be one year old grandaughter perfectly! Milly was also her great grandma's name.
Personally have no issue with this name and if I meet a Millicent I’ll complement their name since it is very unique and pretty but also strong. The first time I heard someone with this name I misheard 5 times and thought they said Malificent - as in the Disney villain. I think that’s a pretty cool connection and I’d be proud to be a powerful dragon creature thingy.
I've seen a lot of people mention this name on forums and such lately. It would not surprise me if it made a comeback sometime soon. I'm neutral towards the name myself, although I would much rather meet a little Millicent instead of yet another Sophia or Madison.
Millicent seems like a super nice name to me, maybe it's because I prefer classic names to modern ones, but yes, Millicent has style. I do not know why I imagine a young woman of high class, beautiful, talented and mature. I think it is a name that ages well and has very cute nicknames, like Millie, Liz, Lizzy or Mimi. Yes, parents should start to take it more into account.
This name had some popularity many decades ago. Not used much anymore. So, it's rare and unusual. Sounds a little bit too old, but the name itself is good. I like it! Millicent has class.
I love the nickname Millie.
A badass name; it sounds like one for an evil queen in a Disney movie.
My name's Millicent and I've always liked my name just the way it is, but all throughout my life people have called me Millie. Especially in school, they'd just read the name Millicent and automatically assume that I went by Millie. I have nothing against it, it just didn't fit me plus my nickname was always Enna, so I didn't need another one. As a child I loved my name because it was Barbie's middle name and I was a little obsessed. I've only ever met one other Millicent in my life, it's interesting to read about other Millicents out there...
I used to really dislike this name - I felt like it had kind of a cold air to it, haughty and unfeeling. J.K. Rowling used it for a mean Slytherine girl (Millicent Bulstrode - man, Rowling can name a character!), and it also sounded a bit like Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty. So for the longest time this was a no-go.Strangely, however, I've been thinking about this name. And even more strangely... I kind of like it. It has a bit of quirky charm that I pinpoint as being from its similarities to the French "mille" (thousand - same in Latin) and "cent" (hundred - "centum" in Latin). So if you speak French (or know your Latin roots), then Millicent looks like "thousand hundred." I don't know, I thought that was funny.
Whenever I hear Millicent, I personally think of a motherly, sophisticated, middle-aged, and wealthy widow.
Love this name! Super cool sounding. However, I think it would be one of those names that would catch people off guard and have them say: How do you spell that? But still get the spelling wrong. I don't know, I'm torn.
I love this name - way prettier than Mildred. When I first heard it, it reminded me of the Disney villain Maleficent as well.
Never heard of this name until a few minutes ago. I think it's very strange and hideous. I thought of currency too when I heard it.
This name is powerful, possibly a good candidate for some sort of rock/metal singer.
If it's too much, Millie is fine (though has a completely different feel).
My name is Millicent and I was wondering if someone had the name same as I then I bumped into this site and having a unique name is incredible. No one in our school has the same name as I.
My name is Millicent and I'm 30 years old. Growing up with this name has been lovely. Yes, people call me Millie but I don't mind it. Although as an adult I've always preferred Millicent. People who meet me usually comment on how nice and original my name is, which is nice. I do consider it to be a very strong name. If it wasn't my name I would be sure to name my daughter Millicent. It's nice that no one knows anyone named Millicent and it's also nice that it's not too unusual but still not common at all. Overall, I've loved growing up with this name and can honestly say I've never been made fun of for it. Malefacent is definitely a name people say my name reminds them of, especially since the newly released movie with Angelina Jolie but I consider it a compliment.
I love the name Millicent. Millicent sounds elegant. Can't go wrong with the nickname Millie. ^_^
I love this name. It's a strong, pretty, traditional girl's name. Milly is a cute nickname.
Don't like this name, as it makes me think of currency and is ugly.
I can see this name gaining popularity, especially with the renewed popularity of Millie as a nickname. Personally I think it looks and sounds too heavy and masculine for a little girl.
For some reason it reminds me of the word innocent. I still don't like this name though.
I hate Millicent. It reminds me of mice and mean old women for some reason. Toss it in the recycling bin.
It sounds demonic.Barf-Alert!
It sounds sexy in a dominatrix kind of way.
It reminds me of shiny things. It's cool!
A very timeless, graceful name. I love it. :)
This name just sounds very... "mean" to me. It could be because of the evil Maleficent in "Sleeping Beauty," but something about this name seems malevolent. I can't put my finger on it.
A perfect name. I'd fear for the nickname Millie however, which is awfully common.
I don't like Millicent or Mildred. They are both outdated.
I love the sound of this name. It is so beautiful.
Very old-fashioned. Millie is an okay nickname, but the ending of this name isn't pretty at all.
Mmm. Millicent makes me think of luxury and sweetness. Something about the way the sounds fall makes me think of a fur coat tumbling onto the ground. Yes, seriously! There is also something vaguely numerical about it, and it is quite a grand name, but luckily it has the nickname Millie (very popular right now in the UK), which will ensure that a little Millicent fits in!
I love the sound of this and the way it looks. I think it's a beautiful strong name that would be wonderful for a child or a grown up. The nickname Millie puts me off though. I think I'd go with Mila if I had to pick one.
Pretty, but I read a book that ruined the name for me.
Fairly nice name but I can't stop thinking 'millipede' when I hear it.
Yes, it does remind me of the evil fairy person from 'Sleeping Beauty', which puts me off. I prefer Mildred personally.
I really don't like this name at all. I don't get why all you people think it is so awesome.
My middle name is Millicent and I rather like it. If you like the name but don't want your daughter tagged as 'Silly Milly' (mom's reason for vetoing it as a first name), consider it as a middle name.
I love this name because of its strength, I love strong female names, however it reminds me of the name of that evil lady in Sleeping Beauty. It also reminds me of mean old aunts. However that doesn't put me off.
Millicent is a name that makes me think of old ladies.
I think Millicent is a very nice name. Never heard much of it's usage so it must be unique in some way.
I love this beautiful name.
A gorgeous traditional name, a much better choice than any of the million Sarah or Hannah names out there. My daughter is called this and EVERYONE who meets her comments on how lovely her name is.
