I think Milo is adorable and has such a lovely sound. My one objection is that I have a hard time picturing it on a grown man.
Unpopular opinion but I see this being a nice choice on a boy or girl. I played an rpg with a female character named Milo and she was iconic. I will say it still leans more masc with me.
I picture a very attractive man.
Very cute.
Milos are hot.
Really childish without even being nice or cute.
Sounds like a dog name. If you want to use this name for your son, please just call him Michael or something and then use Milo as a nickname. Can't imagine a 45 year old businessman called Milo...
I really like this name, it's so cute. It goes with being old too, like I can see an old man named Milo.
Good name for a dog!
I suppose it could be okay for a pet, but definitely not for a human.
Good name for a dog but stupid for a human.
No, this is brand name.
Man, everyone upset that trans people like dis name eh?
Well hello! I’m Milo and I’m non-binary, this name has been a name I’ve always adored- way before I came out. I feel like this name can work both on a boy or a girl, or anyone really! It’s so sweet sounding.
Milo is a thinker. A little elf named Milo who tinkers and creates would be a great character for a novel.
I love the name Milo, and might use it for a son one day. It’s a nice, short name to go with our long last name.
Sounds better as a cat name (because of Milo and Otis).
I love this name so much. It is similar to Mila, which I love, and is, too the adjective for "dear" in several Slavic languages. We chose this name for our first born and have never regretted it once. So special and pretty.
This seems like a total dog name.
I think Milo is a good name depending on the person. A kid in my class when I was in 4th grade was named Milo and he was nice but also too sucked up in The Mandalorian.
Wow, so many trans guys! I can see why they like this name. It's nice and not rough like Brad or something.
This is actually my name! I'm named after Milo the cat from Milo and Otis. It has always been a favorite movie of mine. (also to every trans boy using this name, hi! I'm trans too. I know I'm gonna get a bunch of Karen's mad by saying that but eh, I don't care.)
I really like this name a lot and I can't really think of anything negative to say about the name Milo. :)
I love this name, and while Milo Yiannopoulos is dumb, I don't think of him when I hear this name and it is therefore not ruined for me.
Hi! I'm a trans boy, and I've picked the name Milo. Why? It's simple, it's cute, it's perfect for a short boy like me! I overall think this is a great name and Milo Yannananana or whatever his name should be forgotten by now. If you're thinking about naming your baby boy Milo, I encourage you! It's super sweet and for a cute lil boy.
Yeah, I think it's better for a dog. Can't picture it on a human at all.
All I can think of is this name belongs on a dog... the dog from the mask and I think the cat in the movie Milo and Otis. Not a name I would think ages well for boy or girl past the age of 5. Also it seems quite a bit feminine to be taken seriously on a boy. I do like that it is unique though and don't see it much but I do see it on many dogs it is just like the name Max that is on every dog these days :/
Heyo. Fellow trans guy here.
First off, I hope you’re having a good day.
Okay, down to business. I hate that this “Milo Yiannopoulous” fellow is driving people to hate this name. My (Trans) name is Milo. I chose this name not because I agree with this other “Milo” dude. I hate him and what he thinks and believes. I chose this name because I ignored all of this. And I think that everyone else should too. Forget about the name and focus on the person. Do you hate me because my name is Milo? I sure hope not. That’s a pretty dumb move on your part. You don’t know me. I don’t know you. If you hate me, you have no valid reason. Don’t let one person's actions ruin a name that is owned by many people. Life is already hard enough.
Thank you for reading this, my fellow people.
Milo is a name that might work if a future parent desires a name that is simple and would be easy to pronounce for a child when he is growing up.
I actually used to like this name until I found out about Mr. Yiannopoulos. Now I can't see it without thinking of his hateful political views. I'd advise choosing something else.
If I could hear this without thinking of Nero (Milo Yiannopoulos) I would like it. He is literally both homophobic and homosexual (I support gay rights, but not the way he is about his blatant homophobia and the fact that he would be made straight if he could), and irritating as hell I would be okay with it. Now all I associate this with is alt right commentators.
Milo is an awesome name. It's classic, yet youthful. Despite its rather negative connotations in modern times, it's a pretty humble sounding name that will last well throughout the owner's life.Just please don't spell it Mylo.
Hehe, if we can get past Mr. Yogurtopolis and chocolate milk, then I think we can see a really good name that sounds good on both a boy and a man. Like Oliver, actually.
I really love Milo, but Milo Yiannnopuolous or whatever makes me not want to use it.
Neo-Nazi Milo Yogurtopolis or whatever his name is has ruined this name for me. I think it's a sweet-sounding name but that connotation will always be there.
Milo Yiannopoulos has ruined this name for me. I used to like it, but now I can't separate it from him.
Here in Australia, Milo is a drink, so that puts the name Milo off limits. Miles/Myles would be a better choice.
I've never liked this name, even before the evil Milo Yiannopoulos was around. It sounds way too childish to be taken seriously.
I think it sounds really tacky, like the name of a cheap perfume, and of course there's the association with that racist, misogynistic jerk Milo Yiannopoulos. I bet a lot of the men using this name on their sons must be admirers of him.
My name is Milo. I'm an adult female! I have grown to LOVE my name, and I'm not ugly hipster trash!
I love this name. It may be my favorite boy's name.
I really like this name but for some reason I don't think it fits men over 30.
Milo was the first name of the president of the college I attended. He has since passed away. It is a Bible College and he was a very good man and leader as far as I know. I really like this name. I really like it's meaning "merciful". Another site listed "merciful or soldier" as possible meanings. I kind of like the irony and depth of the two of those meanings being what you might not think of as going together...
I really like this name. It sounds unique and cute, but because one of my pugs is named Milo, I can't exactly imagine it as a name for a grown man. But I think it would be great as a childhood nickname.
Cute nickname for Miles :)
Love this name, it's very adorable. :D I'm not sure how well it ages though.
Brings to mind the character from the children's book "The Phantom Tollbooth", which is probably why I picture Milo to be a young boy. But I definitely think it could also be suited to an adult man.
It's a lovely name - simple but unusual, and a bit mysterious.
I like it, but it seems a bit cutesy.
I think this is a tremendously cute name for a boy, but I'm not quite sure how well it's going to suit a grown man. At least it ends in 'o', so it's clearly masculine and not infantile in the same way as names ending in -ey might be. I like the sound of this name by all means, but I'm afraid it'll be very popular.
The name Milo is cool, you don't hear it as a person's name here in Australia (because it's a drink!)
I like the name, BUT as the first person who comments said, it would never be acceptable in Australia/New Zealand because of the drink.
This a really unflattering name, I picture a really feminine man.
I love this name! It sounds so cute for a little boy and it is very attractive for a grown man. Love it!
I love the name Milo. It was the name of the lead singer of the Descendants - a favorite of mine in the grunge era. :) I also had a blind cat who's name was Milo (before the animated movie came out). My husband thinks it sounds like a pet name, so I doubt if I can sway him. I think it would be a nice nickname for Myles, but I think Myles/Miles is getting pretty popular.
I used to think Milo was a cool name, then this baby's show called the tweenies came out and one of the things on it was called Milo. He's purple and loud and scary, and he breaks into song all the time and dances like he's got his big toe caught in an electrical socket. It kind of put me off the name.
I like the name even though Milo is a popular chocolate flavoured drink in Australia. Milo has also branched out to chocolate bars and cereal too now. I love chocolate, so it's a good connection.
