Nina may mean:
= "nice eyes" in Hindu
= "mother" in Swahili
= "huge, excellent" in Native American language
= "friendly" in Arabian
= "flower" in Old Greek.
All my life my parents have referred to a baby naming book which states "Nina" to originally be a Babylonian reference to the 'Mythical Goddess of the Sea' - all other adaptations appear from the mid-century onwards... Happy hunting :)
