Olimar

The first Pikmin came out in 2001 on the Nintendo Gamecube, it's a real time strategy game with puzzle elements mixed in. Captain Olimar is from the planet Hocotate, and works for the company Hocotate Freight. When his ship, the S.S. Dolphin (Named after the Gamecube's codename) crashes on an uncharted planet, he is aided by small plant like creatures called Pikmin, and is able to rebuild his ship, and return to his wife and kids. Throughout the series, Olimar's character is fleshed out through various log entries where we get to hear his inner thoughts, opinions, and stories about his life. He's hardworking, intelligent, fatherly and gentle, but can sometimes be a little hot-headed and prideful. His family is always his driving motivation, he loves them more than anything.
