Personally I quite like the name. It's not bad to name your son this in modern times I think. It has a lot of character and is quite nice to say.

Sounds very dated, pretentious, and country to me. The popcorn brand also comes to mind.

Okay, I'm just going to weigh in here. My son is named Orville and while not my first choice of name, I kinda like it. I'm English and I've definitely never met anyone with this name over here, but my husband is American, from the South, and it was a name he recognised. I refused to call our kid after any member of our families, which is kind of a Southern thing I wasn't comfortable with, but I was fairly happy to go along with this name because it's got history for him. YES I think it's a little old-fashioned but so what, it makes my son unique while not being weird enough for people to be mean about it.

A hideous old man name. Unacceptable for anyone under the age of 95, and even then a different name would be preferable.
