My European relative, Ottilie, is oh-TEEL-eeyuh.
She says it rhymes with Shakespeare's Ophelia. Think of Talia Shire (Rocky Balboa's wife actress):
Her name's 'T' (as in ditto) has tongue tip behind 2 front teeth, and not (as in tugboat) has tongue width against roof of mouth palate. Other correct examples: felicity, delicate, tick-tock, not trunk, tumble, Toronto.
In the U.S. Ottilie is likely to get the pronunciation, oh-TIL-ee in many regions.
My neighbors just had a baby and named her Ottilie, but they pronounce it AHT-i-lay. Personally, I prefer that pronunciation.
