Comments (Meaning / History Only)

The name Quintin and its variant Quentin were used historically by other name variants to name the fifth child or a child born during the fifth month. Basically anything with five. However back during Ancient Rome this name had popular variants. July was the fifth month of then. Now it is May.
Quintin means "Fifth" not just for fifth child. In history Quintus and Quintilius were also used to name a child born in the fifth month.
The origin probably has something to do with 'quint' being the prefix for 5. I know someone that was named Quentin because he was the 5th child of the family.
