I think Rocco is a really nice name. It's a good length, it ages well, and it's definitely not overused. I like the potential nickname “Rocky”, and I love the name's beautiful historical ties to the the patron saint. Overall, I think Rocco is a wonderful name.
I think this is a charming name! My husband has an 11 year old boy in his class with this name. He says people will make “Rocko’s Modern Life” jokes a lot to him however. It kind of made me think I shouldn’t choose this name for our children… sad how kids choose to bully. I think if I were to name a son this, I would give him a middle name he could choose to go by, or keep Rocco a middle name.
It’s cool and unusual, though it reminds me of raccoons a bit.
Rocco feels like a person that fights a lot.
My brother's name is Rocco and when he was young he would fight.
Oh baby I would love to name myself after the best cartoon character ever. A great name and its funny, unbeatable combination.
Cute! But I don't like the nickname Rocky.
I like it. Reminds me of a good Italian restaurant in my city, which is a nice association for me.
My name is Rocco Benedetto R_____. I love my name and I am thankful for it and proud of it.
My husband's middle name is Rocco, named after a beloved uncle. Sicilian on his mother's side, but he loves Germanic culture which is interesting as that is the origin of the name. To me Rocco is a name that insinuates handsome, sensitive, honest, hard-working and loyal, NOT a Mafia criminal!
My name is Rocco and you can tell I’m Italian from my long last name that ends in ‘i‘. I think that it’s a cool unique name and I’m proud of it... kinda.
I was named after my grandfather Rocco (he was a gentle soul). Since I'm a girl my name Rocca. I am called Tina, which derives from calling a little one Rocchettina (pronounced: Rockettina)
I never liked my name but use it as a labeling name "LaRocca".
Given that there are like five people here that seem to hate the name, it sort of makes me want to use this name on a character for which it wouldn't stereotypically match. You know, like a legit, sciency type. Maybe, a bit squirrely. Maybe a mama's boy.
My name is Rocco, lol. You hate the name at the start when you hear it often but when you have heard it a lot you start loving it. I don’t know why it’s like that, but I guess that’s not everyone.
To me the name Rocco makes me think of a criminal or makes me think of something that is associated with rocks.
Once you get past the Rocko's Modern Life association, this is a pretty handsome name. I picture a boy or young man of Italian descent, with dark hair and lightly tanned skin.
I feel bad saying this, but the name Rocco sounds really unintelligent.
I'm beginning to like this name. I think it's strong, but has a childlike innocence. Cute on a boy, handsome on a man. I also like the simplicity mixed with rarity.
I absolutely ADORE the name Rocco. Especially Rocco Antonio or Rocco Octavian. It reminds me of a sweet and intelligent boy.
Somehow this name makes me think of a really muscular, tanned macho guy from Southern Europe or South America who is dumber than a box of rocks and is the lifeguard and lover of some rich middle-aged woman who finds him an idiot but loves his sex appeal. It's such a tacky name, and it sounds more like the name for either a criminal or a dumb but (in some women's opinion) sexy mach tool.
I love the name. I'm not sure what I love about it. The sound. It sounds strong and manly. And the spelling with the two "c"s looks cute. And that is why I don't like the variant Rocko. It seems so "unnatural"? The "ck" doesn't fit here, I think.
Rocco is a great, spirited name! Rocky would be a cute nickname for Rocco.
I love the name Rocco. It's a beautiful name.
This is an ugly name.
I thought it would be associated with rocks.
My friend has a darling little brother named Rocco Rizzo. Rizzo is their mother's maiden name, and I think it has such an adorable ring.
I wanna name my child Rocco. It's very cute!
