Roma 2

Really just makes me think of tomatoes, not a person.

It sounds offensive to the Roma (aka Gypsies). I wouldn't use it as a name.

It wouldn't be so bad if it didn't remind me of Rome, and the Roman Empire was basically the birthplace of fascism, even if it wasn't called that. Then there's the whole Middle Ages and the Catholic church thing I don't feel like getting into. Too many bad associations.

Roma is a beautiful name. You just have a rather ignorant world view and obviously don't like Italians, that's all. Hmm, right?

To the anonymous user who commented above, I think you're being very rude. He/she doesn't like the name, doesn't mean she/he is ignorant and has a thing against Italians. Your statement was very uncalled for.

As for my opinion of Roma, I like it. It's different and pretty, and it appeals to me more than the somewhat similar sounding Ramona. Plus, I would die to see the beautiful city of Rome one day.

Roman empire the birth place of fascism? What makes you think that? I think Roma is a nice name and I love the city Rome so that's a great association. I would pronounce it ROH-mah.

I think this is a lovely name, and one that you could grow up with well.

It's my little cousin's name, the name fits her perfect (we pronounce it roe-ma). They're both so cute, also Roma spelled backwards is Amor which I think is spanish for "love", sorry if it's not but I think it is,
anyways this name is very cute and is great for a little girl, a nice name to grow up with.
