I've always found this more elegant sounding than Seraphina. A lot like the dynamic between Evangeline and Evangelina or Annalise and Annalisa. Seraphine is just more subdued, which I tend to prefer with feminine names. I get different vibes from each name, with the -e ending names being more *refined* and the -a ending names being more youthful and spunky.
The name was what my mother was going to call me, this or Celeste. They're both so pretty, and have something 'heavenly' to them. I prefer Seraphine to Seraphina for a girl as I think it's a little less flowery sounding and more elegant though both are graceful. This is a surprisingly underrated name.
This is such a striking and meaningful name. I have heard the name Seraphina, but this is better because it's more feminine.
That said, I would not choose this name. It would be like naming a child Archangel. My mom used to work with a woman named Archangel, who had red hair and beautiful skin.
Makes me think Sarah/Sara fiend.
I used to dislike this name but recently it has grown on me and I actually really like it so much that I consider using it on my future daugther one day. Séraphine is a unique, feminine and delicate name that is definiteley underused. Keeping in mind the meaning "fiery ones", it has a bit of a mysterious side which is a plus! Also, it rolls off the tongue better than Seraphina, looking a bit overdone. (No offense to all you Seraphina's out there) I can see this name on both a little girl and an adult woman. And I love the combo Séraphine Echo :) Anyways, gorgeous name... Hooray for Séraphine!
As with quite a lot of French variants of names, I think this to be an elegant name. Both this name and "Seraphina" are very highly rated in my book, but "Séraphine" is only ranked higher than "Seraphina" by a hair's breadth. I don't mind using them both on twins.
Even if I already had left the first comment, this name is just so beautiful.
I think this could be a pretty, creative alternative to Sara. Because there are so many Saras today!
I happen to think this is a lot prettier than Seraphina.
