Sévérine

This is my daughter's middle name. When we were searching for names for her, I came across an alternate meaning for Severine, which is "of the Severn." This is perfect, as my daughter was born in Wales, very close to the River Severn. Such a beautiful and uncommon name. For those of you who balk at the "severe" designation, maybe you'll like the river connection.

That etymology of Severine would connect it to the name Sabrina, the Latinized form of Habren (the original Welsh name for the river).
