Unpopular opinion, but I don't think Sigrid is nice.
Never heard of this name before. There's something stunning about it.
Like Astrid, but unlike Ingrid, I don't think anyone in America has been used to this trendy name before. Rare but new to us.
Really starting to love it.
I love the names Sigrid and Ingrid. They seem like sisters.
Sigrid is my name and I absolutely love it. With the name meaning 'victory' and 'beautiful', there is no stronger name you could give a little girl (or boy). Sigrid wasn't common among my peers growing up, but I like that it's unique but still heard of. My English speaking friends call me Siggy, which I love. Sigrid is commonly cited as a first name for strong, smart and independent women in Old Norse literature. Sigrid as a name makes me feel strong and unique and it also reflects my heritage. I am so grateful to my parents for deciding on Sigrid rather than Sarah, Emma or Jessica (not that those names are not beautiful too!)
Never liked the name. My boyfriend always thought it sounded like a disease. He used to tell people, "I just came down with a bad case of Sigrid."
I really love this name. Beautiful sound, beautiful look, beautiful meaning, beautiful nickname.
Well, other than "I like this name" I would like to add that when I was a little girl, my dad told me that Sigrid meant "sunset" or "sunrise". I guess I like those two better than the given meanings. Sorry.
How can "sunset" or "sunrise" be better meanings than "beautiful"?Oh, well. I love this name. I think it's very beautiful.
My kindergarten teacher had this name, and no offense but I don't like it.
