This is so cute on a boy.
It's beautiful, and reminds me of the Sky! Skye is also a pretty variant.
This name is one of my favorites, it feels like the actual blue Sky.
Sky~
I prefer Skye.
This is my middle name— my name is Mia Sky. Personally I love my middle name! My parents thought it went well with my first name, and although it’s short, I prefer this spelling compared to Skye (although that one is very pretty too). I’ve received compliments on my middle name before, which is a bonus haha.
Sounds like a disease, honestly.
I really love this name, for either gender. I think it's beautiful. I mean, think about it; the sky contains many amazing things, like the stars, the moon, the sun, the clouds, rainbows, and many beautiful pastel colors... Plus, someone with this name will always have a reminder that the Sky is the limit ❤️
I think Sky is such a wonderful name.
It's an okay name, but it's too short. I'd spell it Skye.
My daughter is called Sky Angel born on New Year's Eve. Sky is a beautiful name for a special child.

(Anonymous) People that are hating on it on this page because it's a 'thing', think about the names Holly, Daisy, Iris, Ivy, Rose, Brooke, or Savannah which are names of plants, a stream and a desert, why can't you name someone after the Sky? Or Hazel, Bianca, Violet, Scarlett are names of colours. Gail = wind. Stella = Star. What about Olive?! What's so different about Sky? Except that it sounds better and has spiritual connotations. Use your brain!I'm half Chinese/half British and have read many fiction books about Chinese culture plus non-fiction and biogs, people name their children things like 'Snow', 'Winter', 'Reflections of The Moon', 'Beautiful Smile', 'Swan soaring high in the Sky' etc it's not 'hippy' I think it's more meaningful than Western names that are just sounds with no meaning. Your children are the most important thing you will ever create, why not name them something meaningful and beautiful?Who pissed on your parade?!
I love the name Sky/Skye. Sky can also be a nickname for names like Skylin, Skyla, Skylar and Skyleigh. Beautiful and heavenly.
My name is Sky. I used to get made fun of for it, like people saying "Where's Sky?" and then pointing to the Sky and saying there it is. I get compliments for it as well as it is such a beautiful name.
Yeah, nice name! Totally to consider! It makes me think of a clear blue Sky.
This is a beautiful name, it reminds people of peace and happiness. I don't find it a hippie name and it's actually quite rare, despite all the hate comments I would call my daughter or son this.
I hated my name as a kid... I guess because it was different.
As I grew up I started to appreciate it.
I absolutely love my name now. Sky is a beautiful name for a boy or girl. I don't think any other name would fit me. I love it when I'm out and about and I hear someone calling to their kid "Sky" it doesn't happen often enough.
My name is Sky, and I absolutely love it. It's so different. I get tons of compliments on it, too. It's a kind of name people remember, especially if you're very outgoing like me.
My girlfriend's name is Skye and I think it is really pretty. If someone chooses to name their child something like Skye it is their choice. They should not be pressured by other people because it is not a name you would bump into everyday.
My daughter is named Sky. It's not short for anything just plain old "Sky". We get A LOT of compliments on her name. I think it's a beautiful name and it has a lot of meanings in different cultures. I also think it pairs nicely with her middle name (Elizabeth).
My name is Skye! It is a wonderful name that I get many compliments on. I recommend wholeheartedly naming your child this. I knew a boy in my 6th grade art class named Skye and we became close friends. There are many famous people named Skye and I love having this name. I would never change it for the world!
I prefer this spelling much more than "Skye". I like the meaning and the way it sounds. Nature names are my favourite type of names so no wonder I've fallen in love with this name. (:
I like this name and think it's cute but I like the name Skylyn better because it's more of a unique name. And Sky is just simple.
My daughter's name is Sky, her middle name is Tian which is the rough equivalent of sky in Chinese. It's a great name that works especially well for half-Chinese kids.
I myself love the name Sky and I know a girl called Ocean. I love earth names for some reason. But Sky to me is not a princess name but a determined, caring name.
Sky is a British television network. So if you live in Britain and use this name you'd be getting a lot of jokes. Despite the TV network association, it's quite a trashy, cheap sounding name. Maybe for a pet it could work.
I really like this, it's cute and quite unique. If I was naming my child this, it would have to be a middle name though. Can't work out whether I prefer this spelling or Skye.
I actually think this is a pretty hot, fun name, though that's probably because of someone I know.
This isn't as terrible as some other modern names. I've met a Sky and she was not the shallow, Barbieish type or the hippie described. It may seem shallow or ridiculous, but it's much better than "Ocean" or "Princess". Yes, it may not be your cup of tea, but it isn't as juvenile as Sunshine. "Sky" won't haunt someone their whole life. It's actually kind of pretty, in my opinion.
I really don't understand these people who are putting a downer on this name. Yes, it is not a traditional name, but neither are many of the names that we come across these days. Plus, it is technically NOT an object. No-one has the physical ability to pick up the sky, move the sky, or any of the things that would be possible with an actual object. On the whole, I find it a beautiful name even if it is not the most original of names.
My personal impression of the name Sky [Skylar, Skye, Skyla, Skyanne.] Is that it is yet another name invented by the new wave of mothers who see thier daughters as absolutely PERFECT little princesses, who deserve celebrity furniture and high-end clothes. "Sky", to me, sounds like the little girl in preschool wearing Juicy Couture. My impression of the name - take it or leave it.
Skye looks prettier and more ''name-like''. This is a nice enough name, but I wouldn't use it for a boy. Whereas Skylar sounds masculine, Skye sounds feminine. Whatever you do, don't combine this as a middle name to something like Summer, Winter, Autumn, Heaven Lee, or other names that will give this a meaning in the English language, as it sounds awfully tacky, and people like that seem to end up teaching in elementary schools and middle schools, jobs from HELL. I mean, they aren't very serious or mature names that give you credibility for more. This is better as a first name, and can be hyphenated with something simple, like Sky-Anne.
It kills me inside to meet another child named Sky because her mother thought it would fit her. Sounds like a freakin hippie! I would like to know why all of the sudden people are naming their poor children after freakin objects! Come on & be real, most logical people would think the name-givers were high at the time. The '60s are OVER!
I don't understand why people would name their kid Sky. That isn't even a REAL name, it's a word. Duh! Eventually you people will be naming your kids Computer, Toilet and Ocean. Please? Use a real name for a change!
Well, I personally don't understand why we HAVE to stick to the typical names. They get boring. They've all been used a million times for ages, compared to these 'word' named whcih are relatively new. I'd name my children Luna, Sky, or Lake, for example. They are brilliant as names. EMBRACE NATURE. XD
My daughter's name is Skye, I like Sky too but as a nickname for Skyanne.
I love this name for either gender. It's so refreshing to see.
I just don't get why anyone would name their kid this. All of a sudden people are naming their kids Sky, and Heaven, and Rainbow, and Happy and, okay you get it. Hello people, they're freakin words!
Names are words. Sarah is a word. Michael is a whole sentence. They're just in another language.
I had never really heard the name Sky before until my cousin was born yesterday (01.08.06) and she was named Sky. I think it is very beautiful and feminine. It sounds fresh and bright!
Skylee is another version of this name that is pretty.
Skyla and Skylyn are pretty names too.
I think it's a beautiful name. It's my middle name.
This is one of my favorite girl names (though I prefer Skye). I like it as a nickname for Skylar.
I love this name, it is such a wicked name for a person! I wish that it was part of my name also but I've done the next best thing; I have a habit of using it as a name for characters in stories I write!
This is a really cool name, I love it! I wish my middle name was Sky or something because it's so beautiful.
