When I was young I couldn’t understand why Anne Shirley (of Green Gables) made such a fuss over the spelling of her name. Anne with an e is no less plain than ann without the e. But after falling in love with Susannah I have all the sympathy for Anne. I love Susannah but without the h at the end it has a very different style. Susannah is antique, elegant, sadly overlooked and charmingly bucolic. Susanna is just… Susan with Anna thrown on.
This spelling is so lovely. I like Susanna though.
I prefer this Susannah spelling to the Susanna spelling. I like this name and find it a pretty classic.
This name is pretty! I like this spelling better with the h than without. Susie, Susan, and Suze are cute nicknames.
Very underused. I like the look of it.
I’m sorry, I hate this name, and Susanna is only a little better (no offense to anyone with this name!).
Super pretty.
You can't beat this name for a girl. It's has a beautiful sound which is redolent of the antebellum south but which has its origin in the Bible, Roman history and the Catholic sainthood. It's an anti-modern declaration for those parents who reject degenerate, trashy modern naming conventions.
I love the bright cheerfulness of Susannah! I love the nickname Sunny, but Annie is my favorite. Both are so optimistic and lovely!
I also love this spelling. It feels so complete!
The name Susannah was given to 104 baby girls born in the US in 2012.
I do not know why, but -- every time I see or hear the name Susannah, it feels like the sun just came out from behind the clouds and birds have started to sing. The name just delights me for some reason. If I miraculously had a second daughter, I would name her Susannah.
I realized today how much I like the name Susannah! It's really pretty and Susie is such an adorable nickname!
I love this name so much. I would consider this name because one of my favorite aunts was named Susan, but I think this is a prettier variation of that name.
A very beautiful, feminine and uncommon name.
I think Susannah is a beautiful, classic name. I don't care for Susan though, probably just because it seems too post World War II.
Our daughter (born in 2000) is named Susannah. We love the name's femininity, familiarity, and as it turns out, uniqueness. We meet a ton of Savannahs but no Susannahs her age.
This is such an uplifting name. It reminds me of sunshine, and makes me smile when I say it. Love Susannah!
I think this name is beautiful!
I really like Susannah. I believe it means "lily" and the Hebrew version is Shoshana. In Early American times a popular nickname was Sukey, which I think is unique and prefer it to Susie.
Susannah is ravishing.
It is such a pretty name!
A very beautiful name.
I love the name Susannah. I think it goes great with the middle name Grace. I hope to have a daughter named that some day.
