This name is Terri-ble.
Terri as in "TERRIble" LOL.
It sounds cute, but maybe stick with the spelling Terrie? It looks a lot more mature.
My name is Terri and it is my given birth name. Growing up in a Catholic school the nuns insisted that my name must be Theresa because Terri was just a form of a saint's name. Not true. Like others mentioned I also thought of using my middle name "Terri Ann" however couldn't get used to it. And yes I also got mistaken as having a boy's name. Born in 1958 I received "Boy's Life magazine".
Terri the Terrible.
My name is Terri (I was a 1958 baby - a time when Terri was at it's most popular so it seems). I grew up with people telling me Terri / Terry was a boys name... I did not like that. As a teen I started including my middle name when I had to write my name - Terri Lee. I love the two names together. Through the years I have met MANY Terri's - most were either Terri Lee or Terri Anne (I did meet one who said her parents could not decide so she was named Terri Leanne!).
My mother named me Terri, this is not a low class name. I never met a stripper named Terri, I'm sure there is one but it's a good name. I love my name. I'm in great company 1-Terri Irwin 2- Terri Clark- singer 3. Teri Garr actress. So thanks mom, I love you so much.
I think Terri is a very nice name for a girl. My teache'rs name was Terry, and that was ugly, because it was more a boy name. But Terri is nicer.
BTW, for the Lyndsey Sands vampire novel fans here: The wife of Bastien is named Terri too. I saw this name there for the first time and I simply loved it.
Terri is my sisters name, short for Teresa. I think it's a gorgeous and really friendly and happy name. I've always loved it anyway.
Sounds ugly and low class, "stripper name". Do not like it.
Terri is my mom's name, and it's not short for Theresa, just Terri. She was a tomboy growing up, and she had her name misspelled a lot, whether it was T-e-r-r-y or T-e-r-i. Honestly, for a girl, I think my mom's spelling is the prettiest (Teri looks too short, and I've always considered Terry masculine).
I really like the name Terri. I really don't like super girly names like Kiana and Ciera. But hey, different strokes for different folks. I think all kids are going to try to make fun of all names, no matter what. That's what kids do. Enough of the chatter, but I really love the name Terri. It could be used for a girly girl or a tomboy!
It's an alright name for a girl. I know from experience that I'm not keen on my name, but I prefer it to commoner names. I hate the fact that people get the impression I'm male because of the name, and I have to explain the 'I' and the 'Y'
Well this is my name. It's been ok for me and I have never had it mistaken for a boys name. Nor have I ever know anyone with it who seemed trashy to me, as I read in another comment. Here in Australia the nickname for it is Tez. Which is also used for Thersea as well.
Boy's or girl's name it's still really cute. I have a friend that goes by this name. Too bad her last name is Bell. (Terri Bell/Terrible)
Terri is my mother's name and she has always disliked it. My dad calls her T. She was born in 1960 where it was used more for boys and the popular names for girls were names like Kathy and Cindy. It's not used much now but you still get the occasional man named Terry.
Terri seems sort of trashy to me.
I think this spelling looks much more feminine than T-e-r-r-y. It is cute as a nickname for Teresa, but I wouldn't use it alone.
Seeing as how my name is Terri, I must say that I've grown rather used to it. It's not such a bad name. I've never been mistaken for a boy. The only problem I've ever had is that people tend to want to spell it T-E-R-R-Y and I almost always have to correct them. But that's just one of those things.
Just an ugly name for a girl.
Terri is a cute name for girls. Though I don't like to name any girl any name that can also be considered as boy's name. I think it is not a good idea to do so. Unless this girl is a tomboy who grows up like that.
