I only like it for a boy.
I prefer Theresa without the nickname Terry. I don't like this nickname much for Theresa. This is such a better nickname for Theodore. Like omg, ditch the immature Teddy, and add Terry or Theo instead please.
I personally believe that the name Terry is very underrated. I think it's a very nice name for both boys and girls.
I think it seems feminine enough, after all Lindsay and the like are male names. Other spellings are Terrie, Terri, Tery, Terie, Teri, and Tarry.
I think the name Terry for a girl is a horrible name. It's so masculine... why would anyone do that to a little girl?
Why would you call a baby girl Terry, unless if you wanted her to get teased all throughout her life.
I think of Terry as a boy name, probably because I know 6 boys named Terry, but there is also a Canadian athlete/hero named Terry Fox.
I am a woman named Terry. My father gave me the name, and for Pete's sake, all the busy bodies telling me it wasn't a girl's name should've gone and jumped into many lakes! I rather like the name now, especially for Marlon Brando playing Terry Malloy in On the Waterfront--one of my favorites! It seems to me that Terry has an Irish flavor to it.
I know both male and females with the name Terry. Although the male's are short for Terrence. I do like it better as a masculine name. Terri is a nice spelling for the girls. And I believe it's short for Teresa.
I find this really masculine no matter how it's spelled. On a girl, would be much better as a nickname for Theresa than as a given name.
Terry is masculine. Terri is feminine.
Honestly, this name would be much better on a girl if it was spelled with an I at the end, because Terry just looks too masculine for a girl. Plus this name was originally for boys. My uncle's name is Terry.
I've always felt this name to have a nice ring to it. I associate it with Marlon Brando's character in "On the Waterfront".
I'm sorry but I really don't like this name, it reminds me of a snappy little dog that is forever urinating and defecating on the lino floor of a council-house kitchen. :S
There's nothing wrong with Terry for either a boy or a girl, but it just seems to me that it shouldn't be a name in its own right. It should always be a nickname for either Terrence or Theresa.
I don't know why, but to me Terry is a masculine name. I prefer the spelling Terri for girls.
This is my Dad's name. I think of it as a masculine name, rather than a feminine one. I love my Dad more than anything, he is a great representative of the name Terry. The nicest person in the world.
Terry is my mom's name. I think it's a beautiful name for a girl.
