“Urho” is a poetic word for “hero”; from that, terms like “urhea” and “urhoollinen” (“brave, valiant”) derive. [noted -ed]
More specifically, 'Urho' means 'brave man'. As a term, it is rather masculine. (Well, I'd never ever call a girl 'urho')
