As I understand it, Usama is not the everyday word for "lion" in Arabic but is instead a nickname for the lion based on a word meaning "crusher." So it's sort of like an English speaker naming a son "King of Beasts."
Yes and no. The "main" and most common word for lion is "Asad". Usama is another word for it.
