Hellenized form of the Old Persian name *#Arya-bṛz-ana-# which possibly meant "making the Aryans great", of which the first element is derived from Old Persian #aryā# "Aryans". The second element is not really certain, perhaps #*brzi#- "high". This name was, among others, the name of three kings of Cappadocia.
