Neither are to be confused with the Greek noun δεξιά (dexia) meaning "right hand" or the Greek adjective δεξιός (dexios) meaning "on the right hand, on the right side".

The second element of this name is derived from Greek ἀνδρός (andros) meaning "of a man". As such, the meaning of this name is something along the lines of "reception of a man" or "welcoming of a man".
