Romanian name of unclear origin, used as both a masculine personal name and a family name. It was most notably borne as a given name by Vintilă Brătianu (1867-1930), Prime Minister of Romania (1927-1928). Vintilă Florescu was a Wallachian boyar who is said to have married ALEXANDRA, daughter of VLAD II Dracul.
