Diminutive of Lavinia. A notable bearer was the American sculptor Lavinia Ellen "Vinnie" Ream Hoxie (1847-1914), known professionally as Vinnie Ream, who is most well known for her statue of President Abraham Lincoln on display in the United States Capitol rotunda. Vinnie Ream sculpted statues of other well known figures of the late 19th century.
