Meaning & History

Taken from the name of one of the characters in Bertil Almqvist's 1950s children's book classic Barna Hedenhös which is set in the Stone Age.

The name Flisa is a direct adoption of the Swedish noun flisa "splinter; chip; sliver".

Outside the literary world, Flisa is also used as pet form of FELICIA.
