meaning in Persian: Young, Youth, Fresh, Healthy, Brave

The oldest references to the word in Persian literature that I found online were from several poets from Ferdowsi, a great Persian poet from 1000 years ago. the most famous among his poem that all Iranian children learn at elementary school is this:

توانا بود هرکه دانا بود
ز دانش دل پیر برنا بود
translation;
whoever has wisdom, will be powerful
with wisdom, even an old heart/soul will become Young
